The Music Production and Recording (formerly “Digital Audio Recording”) major is offered Session 1 only.

Music Production and Recording students will learn to create music by using computers as songwriting and sound design tools.

They will learn to use the software to record audio, sequence digital instruments, edit, and mix a track from start to finish. Students will need to have an enthusiasm for sound (music or otherwise) and computers.

Campers enrolled in the Music Production and Recording major should also select an elective.

Registration Requirements

  • All applicants must have attended at least one prior year of Sugarloaf Camp in any major (or approval by instructor).
  • No previous recording or musical experience is required but students should be capable with computers and mature enough to handle working alone and in a group.
  • Students will be working with expensive equipment including microphones, laptop computers and monitors.
