Photography

Sugarloaf offers two superb directions for students to explore and develop their photgraphic skills:

Black & White Photography (Photo I) teaches students photography from the ground up allowing them to develop their film and print their own photos!  Students use SLR cameras to help them understand the elements of photography.  This is hands-on photography at its best.

Digital Media (Photo II) is the laboratory for campers to advance the skills learned in Photo I while working digitally.  Campers take hundreds of photos and work with advanced software to enhance their photos, develop digital productions, mix music and prepare a camp digital slideshow. The digital medium allows them to continue to learn about shutter speeds, aperature, depth of field with the advantage of quick upload and analysis.

Both photo classes are excellent learning environments and class size is limited so sometimes it takes a few years to get into the class.
