MAJOR CLASS — TEXTILE ARTS
The Textile Arts major will be offered in Session 2 only.
Textile Arts students need to have an enthusiasm and desire to learn the processes involved in a variety of textile crafts.
Students will learn basic techniques, have the opportunity to explore and create unique designs, and use the processes in textile projects.
We are excited to continue offering Batik (a technique which uses dyes and wax to create beautiful designs on fabric) in Textile Arts. We will not be offering machine sewing this year.
This year’s textile arts skills may be chosen from the following:
Crocheting, Hand Sewing, Applique, Embroidery, Cross Stitching, Wool Stitching, Needle Felting, and other hand work.
Students will be able to interject their own themes and ideas into the projects. Campers enrolled in the Textile Arts major should also select an elective. Those who choose the Craft elective will have the option to continue with Textile Arts projects or try something new!
For the final Program on Saturday, all Photography, Textile Arts, Video Arts, and Visual Arts campers are expected to remain on site and should not remove projects prior to the completion of the final performance.
