All majors except Photography I, Photography II, Digital Music, and Video Production will also select an elective course. Art Elective Students will participate in group projects that require some individual work as well as group activity. Art majors may participate in elective projects or choose to concentrate on their major area of interest. Preference is given to currently enrolled art students. Theater Improvisation Improvisational games and activities. Acting Take your acting experience to a higher level and dive deeper into character development including aspects of character motivation and objectives. Also gain experience in script analysis. NOTE: This class is NOT for beginners. A one minute monologue is required and should be prepared in advance. Dance Introduction to dance movements. Students need to bring loose clothing in which to move freely and shoes with flexible soles. Limited enrollment. Play Writing “Workshopping” an original piece…an on-your-feet, write-it-and-try-it class. Crafts Learn techniques for creating decorative and/or useful items, jewelry, and various art projects. Beginners and experienced crafters welcome. Week 2 Textile Arts students may participate in elective projects or choose to concentrate on their major area of interest. (Updated 2/19/11) Basic Acoustic Guitar No previous experience necessary (instrument provided by student). Limited enrollment Intermediate Guitar Students who already have basic guitar skills looking to add to their skill with more advanced techniques and songs.
