Packing List

Please plan on bringing clothing to handle rain and potential cold weather. While July weather is most often hot, (above 100 degrees) many years have seen last-minute rain and we want all campers to be prepared. Make sure that you are aware of current weather conditions and adjust clothing appropriately 24 hours prior to camp.

  • Sleeping bag
  • Extra bedding if sleeping in a tent (oldest boys only)
  • Pillow / pillow case
  • Duffel bag or suitcase that can get dirty
  • 2 bath towels / 2 wash cloths
  • Sunblock (minimum SPF 15)
  • Bathing Suit
  • Insect repellent
  • Flashlight / extra batteries
  • Stationary and pen or pencil
  • Watch
  • Sunglasses
  • Medications (confirm that camp Nurse has medical forms on file at registration)
  • Toiletry kit to include: comb/brush, soap, toothbrush (non-electric), toothpaste and shampoo
  • 1 pair warm pajamas
  • 2 pairs closed-toed shoes suitable for outdoor activities and mild hiking (no high heels, dress shoes, slippery-soled shoes)
  • 1 pair summer shoes suitable for camping
  • 7 pairs socks
  • 4-6 pairs shorts
  • 2 pairs full-length jeans, cords, or heavy pants (both boys and girls)
  • 6 t-shirts or sport shirts for hot weather
  • 1 warm jacket for colder weather at night
  • 1 or 2 heavy sweaters/sweatshirts for layers
  • 7 underwear/briefs
  • Camera with film/memory card & batteries/charger
  • Lip balm with sunblock
  • Facial tissue
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Hat, cap, scarf
  • Guitar or other instrument for elective class, Rec time, or talent nights
  • Books or reading material
  • Older clothing for crafts/rugged activities
  • T-shirts or sweatshirts for silk screening of theme design ($1.00 per item screened)

Please be aware that the following items will not be allowed at camp:

  • Mobile phones or electronic devices with internet access (i.e. tablets, smart watches, etc)
  • Radio/recording devices (unless required for class)
  • Hunting knives, axes, hatchets, or any kind of threatening device
  • Firearms
  • Tobacco, vapes, alcohol, or other illegal substances
  • Food. The camp facility prohibits food in cabins.
    (Snacks and beverages can be purchased from the Sugarloaf Camp Store at Recreation time).
  • Blow dryers or curling irons
  • Electric shavers
  • Electric instruments or amplifiers (unless required for class)
  • Toys (small props for talent night ok)
  • Offensive clothing or accessories (this includes hats with logos, messages or images that promote alcohol, drugs, racist, sexist, or political messages).
